Banquet is set for March 1st

Let’s celebrate a great season. The Banquet will be March 1st, 6 PM, in the school commons. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

The Huskies competed in the section 4A competition at Chisago Lakes High School last Tuesday, Feb. 14th. They earned their season high by 4 points, placing 4th as a team with a 128.2. Leading the Huskies, and heading to state is senior Erin Jackson. She got her highest all around score of the year with a 36.3 which earned her a first place finish! She also took first on the floor and bars.

Other leaders for the huskies were sophomore Aiyana Ledwein, sophomore Hannah Smith, and 8th grader Hanna Arntsen. Erin with compete at state on February 24th and 25th.

Nolan Patrek also received assistant coach of the year for section 4A!

Sections

The Section 4A meet is this Tuesday, the 14th. The section team competitors will leave school at 11:40. We will grab lunch, then head to Chisago Lakes High School (29400 Olinda Drive, Lindstrom MN 55045). The competing athletes will start stretching at 1:15 pm. Timed warm ups begin at 2:15 pm. March in and introductions will start at 4:45 pm and the actual competition will begin at 5 pm. There are 10 schools in the competition so plan on it being a late night! Please come prepared with snacks and hydrating liquids.
I am so excited to see our gymnasts do Great!!!!!!

Reminder about equipment turn in! You NEED to turn in your leotard and warm ups if you are done competing! You can turn them in to Summer Minnich, or Mr. Patrek, or bring them to practice on Monday, February 13th!!!

Section Meet This Tuesday

Tuesday, Feb. 14th, 5 PM

Huskies take on Columbia Heights, Edison, Fridley, North Branch, Rush City, Spring Lake Park, St. Paul Johnson and Chisago Lakes.

St. Anthony Village JV squad competes against Chisago Lakes, Columbia Heights, Fridley, North Branch, Saint Francis, St. Louis Park and Irondale at Irondale High School. Sat., Jan 4th. 11 AM.

There is an award ceremony following the competition. The girls need to have rides arranged to get home aswell.
After Saturdays meet, JV competitors are done with their season and no longer need to come to practice as the section gymnasts will be preparing for their final competition which will take place on Tuesday, February 14th at Chisago Lakes.
There is a bus for sections and those competing will be leaving st 11:40 from school for the competition. The doors open for warm ups at 1:00 ( we will be grabbing lunch as a team before warm ups so please provide your athlete with money for lunch if they choose to not bring one)
The section competition begins at 5:00 pm (march in at 4:45)

Irondale High School

Two meets this week: away and home.

Mon., Jan. 23th, 6:30 PM: Huskies at Irondale.

Thu., Jan. 26th, 6:30 PM: at home vs. Rush City.

Upcoming away meet

Hi everyone,

We are about to have our first away meet of the season though it seems hard to believe with only 4 meets remaining this year. The coaches thought it might be a good idea to remind the gymants and their parents about how away meets work.

So here we go:
1. The bus departs and arrives at the High School, not the community center.
2. The bus will LEAVE at 4:15. We will not wait around for anyone (coaches included). We are strict on this policy.
3. Everyone on the team is expected to be at away meets, even those who are not competing. The girls may bring homework to complete on the bus or before the meet, but should put it away while the meet is going on.
4. If your child has a phone, we will have them call you ten minutes before we arrive at school. Please pick your girl up as soon as possible! Remember, we will be dropped off at the high school.

Fundraising – this saturday

Hi Gymnasts and Parents,

The team has been invited to participate in a fundraiser on Saturday. The booster basketball program asked if we will clean up the gym after their tournament. We need at least 10 girls to help clean, but the more people that we have the faster we will be done. We will meet at the high school at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and stay until it is clean ( no later than 10.) If you or your child can make it, please let us know!
